Providence Island

.

Providence Island is part of the Tentative list of Liberia in order to qualify for inclusion in the World Heritage List.

Providence Island was the first arrival point of freed American Slaves (1822). Physical remains of that period include a land dock, ancient well, original foundations and the oldest cotton tree of Liberia. It lies near the mouth to the Atlantic Ocean; nowadays it is connected with a bridge to Monrovia.
